My name is Miguel Custodio. I do personal injury. I really felt that that was an area of law in which I would be able to help people and really make a difference in their lives.
My parents were from Guatemala. They really pushed me to do my best in school. When I became an attorney, I saw that I really wanted to help people that were in need, and a lot of the time people here in LA don’t speak English or don’t speak English well. They need an attorney and they want to have the best representation possible. I felt there was a shortage of Spanish-speaking attorneys here in LA that would be able to effectively represent people needing help.
I would love for clients to know we really take an individual approach. We are hands-on every step of the way. We have different team members working on every single case. And we make sure that there is nothing left uncovered in terms of their injuries, in terms of any needs they may have. We really care about our clients. We are very focused on them. They’re everything. Clients come first.
If you’ve been injured, call Custodio and Dubey. We’re here for you every step of the way.
Growing up in a small town in Mississippi, I had a bird’s eye view of structural inequality. The poorest communities around get the worst healthcare, and have to send their kids to the worst schools, and that perpetuates a cycle that is extremely hard to get out of. I knew I wanted to help them try to escape from that cycle.
Once I moved out to California, I became very involved in environmental law. What I realized was, not only can I help those people, but I can help the entire state with what I do. I have two little boys, and there’s nothing more important to me now that their development and how they’re growing up. I want to make the environment a safer place for the next generation.
What I do is try to affect change on a broad level. I feel like I’m making a difference for everybody. We hope we have a positive impact with every single client we meet. And when the client leaves us, when we’re done with their case, we want them to feel like we worked 110% on their behalf and took care of them. That’s our approach. That’s at the core of our philosophy here.
Miguel Custodo Jr.: My parents were from Guatemala. My mom mainly speaks Spanish. When I became an attorney, I saw that I really wanted to help people that were in need. A lot of the time people here in LA don’t speak English well and they need an attorney and they want to have the best representation possible. I felt there was a shortage of Spanish-speaking attorneys.

Client: The day of the injury, I was working Postmates, just doing delivery on a bike. And I was doing a delivery on Los Angeles Street, in downtown LA. I was on my way there, had food in my little basket, and a young lady had come out of her parking garage, and she just ran right into me. I got pinned between the bike and the car.
The most vivid emotion I had at the time was fear. I had never been hit by a car before. I didn’t know what to do. When I couldn’t get ahold of the girl that hit me, I couldn’t ahold of her insurance company, nobody was returning my calls, I realized I’m definitely going to need some assistance physically, mentally.
And that’s when I turned to the team of Custodio and Dubey. Right away they alleviated all the fears I had by making sure that I got the physical and mental help that I needed at the time. Their process helped alleviate a lot of the fears I had about not knowing what was going on with me. Today, I feel so much better. I know mentally I’m back to where I was before the accident. And that is all thanks to the team at Custodio and Dubey.
Vineet Dubey: Miguel, Rob, and I, we all come from different ethnic backgrounds. We all come from different parts of the country. And because of that, when we look at problems and look at issues, we all see them through a different lens. We’re always looking at the case from different angles, from different viewpoints, to make sure we represent our clients in the strongest way possible.
Robert Abiri: We care a lot about the work that we do and the people we represent. It’s very reflective of our work product and just everyone we work with here. They’re genuinely interested in helping via personal injury or consumer class action. It’s just something nice to see and be a part of.
Miguel: It’s really important that we see our family in these clients. We tend to treat our family with the utmost care, and so if we see our parents, if we see our brother, if we see our sister in these clients, we will go above and beyond what’s needed. The team at Custodio & Dubey will be there for you every step of the way.
Robert: If you find yourself in an accident, call Custodio and Dubey.
I grew up out in New York and New Jersey, came out to UCLA for undergrad here in Los Angeles, and ended up staying here. I’m an East Coast guy in the West Coast world now, just enjoying my time out here. I love what I do, and I love the people I work with, including both the attorneys here and the staff as well as the clients I represent.
I started actually on the defense side of things, doing a lot of tort work, and I transitioned over to the plaintiff side. I like helping people and representing that side of the coin. Eventually, I started coinciding my desire to help people with also just the practice group for consumer class actions, deals a lot with false advertising, misleading labels. There’s a corporation out there that’s presenting a product in a certain way, and that’s not accurate. If you can change that, that I would say is successful.
We care a lot about the work we do and the people we represent. It’s very reflective of our work product and everyone we work with here. They’re genuinely interested in helping the client. It’s just something nice to see and be a part of. It takes someone that’s dedicated, interested, and willing to kind of go the extra mile and be aggressive about it–and that’s something I believe I am.
