Liz Rocha is an Associate in Custodio and Dubey’s Consumer Protection group. Her practice focuses on litigating class actions on behalf of consumers who have been misled, deceived or harmed by corporations.
Prior to joining Custodio and Dubey, Liz was a litigation associate at a prominent AMLaw 100 firm defending complex litigation matters involving class actions and PAGA lawsuits. Liz was also an Associate at an AMLaw 200 firm where her practice focused on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts, including reimbursement disputes, antitrust, civil rights, and consumer protection matters.
Liz counseled food, beverage, and consumer product and service companies regarding existing or proposed advertising materials, including product packaging, labeling and distribution materials, and social media and website content, as well as analyzing similar competitor materials and comparative advertising campaigns. She also defended clients in consumer class actions alleging unfair and deceptive practices and false advertising relating to customer agreements and disclosures, product labeling, advertising, and online sales. Liz also represented clients in a variety of civil rights cases centered on reproductive rights, First Amendment, excessive force, LGBTQ rights, and the right to privacy. This experience allows Liz to bring a unique perspective to cases and achieve maximum results for her clients.
Prior to her career in private practice, Liz was a term law clerk for the Honorable Irma C. Ramirez, formerly of the Northern District of Texas, now serving on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Liz received her undergraduate degree in American Literature and Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from DePaul College of Law with a certificate in Intellectual Property. During law school, Liz served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Art, Technology, and Intellectual Property. While working toward her J.D., Liz completed a Legal Externship with the Honorable Patrick J. Walsh (Ret.), as well as an internship/externship with AT&T’s legal department.
