CD law is proud to welcome our summer intern, Dillan Williams!
At the heart of our firm is a commitment to investing in the next generation of legal professionals and leaders. This month, we’re excited to introduce one of our summer interns and share a little about his journey into law.
After graduating from UCLA in 2025 with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy, he is now preparing for law school while exploring different areas of legal practice.
His passion for law began long before college.
“I have always been interested in debating, exchanging ideas, writing, research, and advocating for justice,” he shared. “In high school, I started a Mock Trial club after learning about the program from a mentor. Standing in a courtroom in front of a real judge and experiencing the trial process solidified my goal of becoming an attorney.”
When searching for an internship, he was drawn to CD Law because of the firm’s client-first approach.
“As I researched CD Law, I saw a firm that makes the legal process accessible and stands up for what’s right. That’s the kind of lawyer I aspire to be.”
During his internship, he’s already had the opportunity to gain firsthand experience by sitting in on mediations within our habitability department.
“So far, the most valuable experience has been observing mediations with attorneys and mediators. I’ve learned negotiation techniques, tenants’ rights, and how to effectively present evidence at the right time.”
One aspect of working in a law firm that surprised him most was seeing the collaboration behind every case.
“I’m impressed by how attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants manage multiple cases simultaneously while ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. The systems in place and the teamwork are incredible.”
When asked about the best advice he’s received so far, his answer was simple but meaningful:
“Always stay curious. When you ask questions, you don’t only learn—you also show your team that you care and respect their expertise.”
Outside of the office, you’ll likely find him hiking, playing basketball, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
We are grateful to be a part of the journey towards his goals and are excited to see his legal career grow.
