Recently, C&D Law had the opportunity to host an inspiring group of students at the CD Law office — including undergraduates from the University of California, Los Angeles, University of California, Irvine, and a visiting student from San Diego.
During the visit, Miguel Custodio shared a message that set the tone: Anything worth pursuing is going to be hard.
Whether it’s law school, medical school, or any professional path, the challenge is part of what makes it meaningful. That’s also what makes it worth it.
The goal was to give students the opportunity to visit our office, meet with attorneys, and get an honest, firsthand look at the legal profession. Students were able to tour the office, share lunch with our team, ask questions, and hear directly from attorneys about their experiences, career paths, and the work we do at Custodio & Dubey LLP.
One student described the experience as “both informative and inspiring,” and shared appreciation for “the tour, as well as the chance to share lunch and connect with members of your team.” They also noted their gratitude for “the time everyone took to share insights about your work and the legal profession.”
Another student said that speaking with the team was “not only incredibly insightful but also reassuring for our future as attorneys,” adding that “seeing everyone interact with one another brought me so much joy.” They also expressed excitement about the possibility of bringing their organization to the firm in the future.

Our attorneys spoke about the impact of plaintiff-side work, particularly representing vulnerable clients.
From tenants living in unsafe housing conditions to individuals who feel they don’t have a voice, legal advocacy can create real change. In one example shared, a client secured a life-changing outcome that improved her family’s living situation, a reminder that this work goes far beyond the courtroom.
The visit was a chance to connect, answer questions, and give students a good view of the profession they’re considering.
And if there was one takeaway, it’s this: The path isn’t easy, but it is impactful.
In addition to mentoring future attorneys, members of our team continue to stay engaged in the broader community.
Recently, Gustavo Munguia and Miguel Custodio attended a fundraiser supporting Robert Luna’s re-election campaign for LA County sheriff.
Events like these provide an opportunity to connect with community leaders, support public service, and stay engaged in conversations that impact the communities we serve.
At CD Law, our work doesn’t stop at case results.
Whether it’s mentoring students who are just beginning their legal journey or supporting leaders and initiatives in our communities, we believe in staying involved.
Because building a stronger future — in law and beyond — requires both advocacy and
We look forward to continuing to invest in people, in community, and in the work that drives meaningful impact.
